The Future of Russian Theatre: Development Concept to 2035
The outcomes of the all-Russian forums held under the plan for marking the 150th anniversary of the Union of Theatre Workers of Russia, on laying out a concept for the development of theatre in Russia to 2035
The session will look for a comprehensive approach to the development of theatre amid the challenges of today, including digitalization, changing audience preferences, the transformation of economic models, the development of regional cultural infrastructure, support for young specialists, and the strengthening of spiritual and moral values through theatre.
A concept for the development of theatre through 2035 could form the basis for identifying new directions in the development of theatre, preserving cultural heritage, supporting the professional community, developing theatre education, strengthening regional theatres, and building a sustainable system of support for the theatre sector, as well as serving as good practice for partners abroad.
