The Estate as a Stage: Theatre in a Cultural Heritage Setting

What happens when a museum is no longer a place people come to see an exhibition but instead becomes a living cultural venue? Theatre can give country estate museums a new route, a way to attract a new audience, and give that audience a reason to return.
Taking part in the discussion will be leading street theatre companies from across Russia, together with representatives of the Union of Theatre Workers of Russia and of museums. They will talk about how to turn history, architecture, and landscape into a cultural product in their own right, how theatre can raise the profile of a place, develop event tourism, and create projects that cannot be replicated anywhere else.
