Inclusive Culture: The Culture of the Future

The panel discussion entitled “Inclusive Culture, the Culture of the Future”, held as part of the 12th St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum, is a venue for developing consolidated approaches to creating an accessible and equitable cultural environment in the Russian Federation.
Taking part are representatives of federal government authorities, the heads of leading non-profit organizations and public associations, inclusive creative laboratories from regions across the country, and experts in the field.
The focus of the discussion is the transformation of state policy on inclusion, the introduction of universal methods of working with people with disabilities, the adaptation of cultural and educational institutions, and the search for effective mechanisms of cooperation and for replicating successful regional practice.
Particular attention will be given to social and cultural rehabilitation as a means of integrating people with disabilities into society through creativity, participation in cultural events, and access to arts education, which makes it possible not only to overcome barriers of perception but also to build a full environment for personal self-realization. The dialogue is aimed at shaping a coherent model of inclusive culture as an integral element of sustainable social development and of preserving the country’s single cultural space.
