Leaders in the cultural, educational, and media spheres to put together business programme for 12th St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum
The 12th St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum will take place in St. Petersburg on 24–26 September 2026. The main theme of the Forum is “United Cultures, Common Values”.
“Today, issues of the preservation of cultural heritage, historical memory, traditional spiritual and moral values, and national identity are acquiring particular significance. The United Cultures Forum creates opportunities for open professional dialogue, the exchange of best practices, and the development of joint solutions aimed at fostering humanitarian cooperation. I am confident that the thematic sessions, led by prominent representatives of the professional community, will allow us to shape a substantive agenda that reflects the challenges and objectives of cultural development today,” noted Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova.
Building on this theme, the business programme will be structured around ten thematic areas that address key areas of contemporary cultural humanitarian cooperation. The Organizing Committee has approved the list of coordinators who will determine the content of each thematic area.
Forum participants will focus on issues of preserving cultural heritage, strengthening cultural sovereignty, the role of education and the media, the development of theatre, cinema, museums, musical arts, and the circus, as well as the influence of modern technologies on the formation of the cultural code of the future. Each thematic session will be a space for professional dialogue and the development of practical initiatives aimed at developing humanitarian cooperation.
The coordinators of the thematic areas are: Channel One CEO Konstantin Ernst, Director of the Russian Museum of Ethnography Julia Kupina, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Konstantin Mogilevsky, Director General of TASS News Agency Andrey Kondrashov, General Director of the State Hermitage Museum Mikhail Piotrovsky, General Director of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic Alexey Shalashov, General Director of the St. Petersburg State Academic Capella Olga Khomova, Rector of the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) Grigory Zaslavsky, Chief Executive Officer of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives Roman Karmanov, Chairman of the Union of Theatre Workers of the Russian Federation Vladimir Mashkov, Artistic Director of the State Theatre of Nations Yevgeny Mironov, President of the Alexandrinsky Theatre Valery Fokin, and General Director of the Great Moscow State Circus Edgard Zapashny.
