Traditions and culture of credibility. The roadway to the future

General Staff Building, Green Hall 6/8 Palace sq., St. Petersburg

A culture of trust in a multinational society is closely associated with customs, owing to which values such as stability, justice and pragmatism, that are essential for building up the future, are upheld and bred in the lives of peoples. Traditions prove to be a bridge between the past and the future; we inherit them and pass them down to next generations. Plenty of the universal human values ingrained in them are drawn on credibility, confidence in the integrity, honesty, and goodness of others. Trust allows an individual, regardless of their identity, to interact with surrounding people and overcome their state of uncertainty and alienation. In the course of the discourse, experts will talk about the significance of various traditions in strengthening, undermining or restoring credibility in communities, the risks and benefits of information accessibility of traditional values for creating a culture of trust between peoples, the role of the family in this process, the value of academic knowledge and public interpretation of habits and ways through museum practices and digital technologies.
