Play Readings from BRICS Countries

13/09/2025
11:00 — 20:00
New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre 49A Fontanka River emb., St. Petersburg

Part Three of the Theatre track will consist of readings and discussions of plays. The Forum is a unique platform bringing together civilizations with rich cultural heritage and the potential for new artistic achievements. Dramaturgy and emerging directing should form the basis of theatrical development; however, despite the prevalence in Russia of knowledge about Western dramaturgy, there is a need to actively promote South African, Chinese, Brazilian, and other plays, and to support young directors from friendly countries by creating new translation projects and holding readings of contemporary plays at the Forum in 2025, laying the foundations for a new, joint cultural heritage.
