The library in today's world can and should act as a center for the preservation of history and cultural heritage, which manifests itself in various aspects - collection, storage and digitalization of collections and documents, popularization of knowledge about the past, local history (collecting materials related to local events, personalities and traditions, which helps to strengthen the identity and memory of cultural heritage), cooperation and exchange of information with other institutions, introduction of new technologies for the preservation and presentation of cultural heritage.
