Vladimir Kekhman was appointed the Director of the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum

Vladimir Kekhman became the head of the Autonomous Non-profit Organization “Directorate of the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum” on September 8. Successful preparation for the Cultural Forum that will take place in St. Petersburg for the first time since 2019 will be the main task of the new leader.


Vladimir Kekhman is a significant person for Russian culture. Led by him, the Mikhailovsky Theatre which he has been heading since 2007, has become one of the leading creative collectives of Russia. The geography of the Mikhailovsky Theatre’s tours expanded considerably thanks to his personal efforts, important public and cultural events were organized and given letters of thanks by the President of Russia and the Government of the Russian Federation.

From 2015 to 2021, Vladimir Kekhman combined his employment at the Mikhailovsky Theatre with leading the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2021, he was appointed the Director General of the M. Gorky Moscow Art Theatre.

Vladimir Kekhman was at the head of the Directorate of the Forum in 2012 and curated preparation and holding of the II St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum

In 2023, the Forum will take place in St. Petersburg, on November 16–18. The organizers of the project are the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Government of St. Petersburg.
