The relationship between culture and the special military operation discussed at the strategic session “Unity in Culture: Integration, Education, Priorities”

At the Forum venue, on the new stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre, a strategic session was held with the heads of the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in the field of culture, “Unity in Culture: Integration, Education, Priorities”, dedicated to the synthesis of culture and the theme of the special military operation.

The speakers discussed possible areas of work on creating projects about the special military operation, and also drew up a map of initiatives for implementing regional projects aimed at supporting servicemen, their socialisation through the cultural sector, which will perpetuate the memory of their heroism in works and events of art. The session was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Sergey Pershin, Head of the Presidential Directorate for Social Projects Sergey Novikov, Chair of the State Duma Committee on Culture Olga Kazakova and representatives of 15 regions of Russia.

The experts noted the need for continuity in shaping spiritual and moral values, as well as for expert assessment by participants and veterans of the special military operation when implementing projects.

Deputy Minister of Culture Sergey Pershin noted that there are 93,000 cultural institutions operating in Russia, which create their own projects for the regions. It is important that they not only match the spirit of the times but also carry an educational character. As examples he cited the projects “SVOyaLiteratura” and “SVOeTvorchestvo” bringing together participants of the special military operation and professional poets and artists.

Deputy Governor of St. Petersburg Boris Piotrovsky shared the city's experience of involving culture in the matters of the special military operation.

Head of the Presidential Directorate for Social Projects Sergey Novikov noted that modern content should be based primarily on ten state priorities, including patriotism and personal responsibility for the fate of Russia, the strength of collective unity, creation and a vision of the future, and moral guidelines.
